New website coming soon!

Historic Joy Kogawa House is the childhood home of Canadian author Joy Kogawa. Joy and her family lived in the house until 1942, when they were sent to an internment camp along with thousands of other Canadians of Japanese descent.

Now used as a site for writers’ residencies and literary events, the house stands as a cultural and historical reminder of the internment.

We’re building a new website to share the history of the house, foster conversations, and help enrich the literary community through our writer-in-residence and events programs.

Sign up below to be notified when the new site is ready. In the meantime, you can connect with us on Facebook to find out about upcoming events and opportunities.

We promise to never spam you.
